| German is offered as the first foreign language in Year 7 (core) [there
is usually one group only, although this year for the first time there
are two] and as the second foreign language in Year 8. After two
years of study pupils can choose to continue to GCSE, the core group usually
all continue to this level. Although a requirement of the National
Curriculum a foreign language is still not compulsory, however all girls
take at least one.
German is a popular A-Level in the Sixth Form. Business German is offered to all those with GCSE German wishing to keep their language up to date. All the Lower Six A Level group also take this examination. |
